In less than month, I am going into my second year of university and I've been reflecting on my first year. I've summarised what I thought were the most useful things I learned: 1) Don't focus so much on making friends, just be yourself and you will meet like-minded people. 2) Be smart with money. Trust me the amount of money you get at the beginning of each term might seem like a lot, but it never is. I had to learn this the hard way! 3) Don't be scared to put yourself out there and try new things e.g. joining a sports club or a society. Don't stick to what you already know, this might prevent you from meeting a large range of people. 4) Limit procrastination! Don't get carried away with having fun and forget why you're at uni. BALANCE is key, make time to do work, it just prevents getting stressed out. 5) Comparing yourself to others is not a good way to spend your time.
